Reflecting on Life

wise advice and books notes to help you live the good life

What is it like to talk to a Holocaust Survivor?

This is a short audiobook in which I will be reading a short excerpt from the the book Night by Elie Wiesel.

Some lessons to learn are that generally power in the hands of a tyrant or a group of people can corrupt absolutely.

To Christian readers, this Bible verse explains the Holocaust suffering well:

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,  and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Due to the sensitive nature of this topic, please listen with discretion.
